Vestibular Rehabilitation and Balance Program

Vestibular rehab is an approach used to aid in the recovery from vertigo, disequilibrium, dizziness, and imbalance resulting from impaired function of the vestibular (inner ear) system. Depending on the cause of the problem, treatment can include repositioning maneuvers applied by your Physical Therapist, and/or specific exercise. The exercise is designed to:

  1. Decrease dizziness.
  2. Improve visual control.
  3. Improve balance and ability to do work.
  4. Improve endurance, strength, and ability to perform everyday activity.
  5. Promote central nervous system compensation for deficits that may or may not be permanent, allowing individuals to improve their function.
